WHINSEC courses have been approved for college-level credit by the American Council on Education (ACE), a private and universally recognized system for accrediting courses taught at institutions not primarily considered to be colleges or universities. Graduates of accredited WHINSEC courses are able to request that academic institutions to accept their WHINSEC coursework toward a degree at the credit level indicated in the ACE catalog.

WHINSEC students have numerous other educational opportunities. All students and faculty have access to undergraduate and graduate courses offered by Troy (AL) University, Regent University, Florida Institute Technology, as well as many other local and online learning programs.

Students who attend the Command and General Staff Officer Course (CGSOC) have a unique opportunity to earn Master’s degrees simultaneously with their WHINSEC studies, using up to 18 hours of their coursework applied to their civilian studies. The course also offers the opportunity to complete a Master in Military Art and Science (MMAS) from the Command & General Staff College (Ft. Leavenworth, KS) concurrently in Spanish or English while attending at WHINSEC. The North Central Higher Learning Commission (NCHLC) has approved WHINSEC as a site to offer the MMAS to its CGSOC students.
